A Peek Inside Group Coaching
What does group coaching actually look like?
Like individual coaching, group coaching is a collaborative process led by the creative dynamics of everyone involved. As a coach, I have the honor of asking the questions from a place of wonder and curiosity and sitting back to see what insights and solutions unfold. I also facilitate the session so that we stay on topic and all participants get what they need from each session. Although participants share their experiences, this is not a support group. Although I share ADHD knowledge, this is not a class. This is coaching!
A loose example of a session might look like this:
12:00-12:05 Share wins of the week.
12:05-12:15 Introduce the Turbo Thinker challenge of the week.
12:15-12:20 Apply to your own life and identify personal examples.
12:20-12:50 Volunteer to be coached. Participants can choose to receive coaching live in the session. Depending on the size of the group, this can be together or in break out rooms.
12:50-12:55 Discuss individual action plan for the week.
12:55-1:00 Summarize take-aways and accountability plan.
Between sessions, we use Slack as a communication tool for:
Sharing wins
Encouragement
Sharing strategies on overcoming obstacles
Checking in for accountability
We also use direct messaging within Slack for individual coaching and checking in.
