5 Strengths of Turbo Thinkers©

Turbo Thinkers all have their own unique strengths and challenges. They also have some challenges that are common to all brains with ADHD, mostly related to executive function skills and self regulation. In my years working with Turbo Thinkers, I have also discovered some common strengths. I get to work with people who are:

Spontaneous!
While we may be impulsive at times, we can also seize the opportunity when it arises. We can embody carpe diem. We can let the spirit move us. We can see a chance and take it. While others deliberate, we can activate. Let’s face it, Turbo Thinkers are more fun.

Courageous!
We are risk takers, movers and shakers. We are entrepreneurial and adventurous. We embody that “Why not?” spirit. We bravely move into wherever our curiosity leads us, sometimes led by intuition rather than cognition, moving with wonder rather than fear.

Creative!
We are unconstrained by the limits of society. We think outside of the box, sometimes not realizing that there was a box there in the first place. We can see situations from different perspectives and come up with solutions that might seem wacky to a neurotypical person. We are innovative and artistic.

Persistent!
Once an idea takes hold of us, we will not let go. We hyperfocus, sometimes to the point of ignoring our basic human needs. We can be driven to perfection. We can let our passion motivate us to the very end.

I have the honor of working with these brains every day! Every day I am both surprised and humbled by the ideas that my clients share with me. Every conversation is a work of art. Sometimes I think that I’m the luckiest gal on the entire planet.
