Self-Advocacy as a Turbo Thinker©
Often in coaching conversations we end up discussing self advocacy. This includes knowing what our brain needs to succeed and the skills to ask for it. This begins with awareness: awareness of how our brain works best, knowledge of what exactly is going on in that brain, and recognition of how it feels in the moment. We can then pause and reflect, “Aha. What might I need right now?” We then, with practice, can ask for whatever that might be. Sometimes, we need the right environment, the right resources, the right boundaries, or the right time. Sometimes, all we need is understanding, patience and love. How do you know what you need? How do you build the courage to ask for it?
