ADHD Coaching at the World Congress on ADHD
Exciting news! As a board member of PAAC - The Professional Association for ADHD Coaches, the only credentialing body for ADHD coaches and coaching programs in the world, I will be showcasing ADHD coaching at the World Congress on ADHD in Amsterdam this month. The aim of the World Congress is to disseminate education about ADHD and advocate for patients and their families by having world experts teach clinicians, researchers, and other ADHD stakeholders how to use scientific facts and clinical wisdom to create better outcomes for people with ADHD.
Alongside Marie Enbäck, MCAC from Sweden, I will share research supporting the efficacy of ADHD coaching and demonstrate how ADHD professionals in the medical community can collaborate with ADHD coaches to better support their patients as part of their treatment plans. This historic moment marks the first time ADHD coaching is being recognized by the scientific community at a worldwide level.
My participation in the Congress supports my mission of helping as many people as possible by raising awareness of coaching and its value while supporting the high professional and ethical standards for our profession. Research studies and anecdotal reports from individuals with ADHD and their coaches suggest that ADHD coaching can be an effective treatment option for adults with ADHD. Multiple studies published in the Journal of Attention Disorders show that ADHD coaching can improve executive functioning, self-regulation, self-efficacy, daily functioning, quality of life, goal attainment, and overall functioning in adults with ADHD. It is essential to work with a qualified and experienced ADHD coach who has received appropriate training and certification.
I look forward to sharing what I learn at the World Congress!
