5 Reasons Why We Love What We Do
Last Sunday afternoon, driving back from a perfect summer day of kayaking in the cool waters of the creek and river, I was asked, “If you could have any job in the world, what would you do?” My friend didn’t even pause to let me answer, but just continued, “You’d do what you do. Right?” Yep. He knows me. Why do I love my job so much? Let me count the ways. There are so many reasons to list, and here are my top 5:
Every day is different! My Turbo Thinking brain thrives on novelty and spontaneity. While I have the structure of a calendar, I never know what my brain will discover. I wake up every day wondering where my conversations will go. What will we explore? What will we learn? What might come out of that? Where will we go?
I love my clients! I work with, hands down, the most fascinating people on the planet. My Turbo Thinkers are curious, dedicated to their personal growth, and brilliant. They have diverse interests, take risks and pursue their passions. As they learn to understand, discover and appreciate their strengths, they fall in love with themselves again and I fall in love with them too. They can step into the highest version of themselves and allow me to appreciate that. I really, truly love each one of them.
Collaborative curiosity and creativity! I enter each session, fully present and full of wonder. I get to ask questions to further explore and discover, both wide and deep. Together, we see situations from different perspectives, invite experimentation and innovative solutions. We can embrace our wackiness.
Fulfillment! I have the ultimate privilege of witnessing my clients’ growth. We get to celebrate wins and explore their keys to success. They drown the inner critic and leave the false narrative that never served them. I get to champion them and watch them emerge into a new story.
Inspiration! It’s almost unfair. I get to have intimate conversations with the most varied assortment of adventurous Turbo Thinkers. In our open honesty, acceptance and vulnerability, I learn so much. I observe the A-ha!moments and the pop of fresh ideas, all through a new lens to see the world from a unique angle. The positive energy is contagious and unstoppable.
