Continued Impact for Turbo Thinkers©

As October draws to a close, so does ADHD Awareness month. Yet why limit ourselves to merely one month of celebrating our strengths? More and more studies reveal the benefits of neurodiversity for the entire community, be it at home, at work, in social circles or professional networks. The truth is that our unique Turbo Thinker wiring supports the people around us in a myriad of ways.

One of my current clients comes to mind. Emma is an attorney looking to change employment and possibly even careers, with recruiters throwing offers in her face. How is she to choose? Her wiring makes her a great candidate for the job…or any job that aligns with her values. Because of her interest-based nervous system, if her work directly relates to her purpose she will passionately put her heart into it and execute any task assigned to her.

Another Turbo Thinker strength is her strong sense of intuition. She is able to connect deeply with others and build strong relationships. Because of her accurate ability to read people, she can tell who is acting in an authentic or fake manner, and can identify who will work well together.

This supports her leadership skills. She is a big ideas person, who can see high level strategy and combines this with an ability to know who is good at what to effectively collaborate. With the right support staff, she can direct her time and energy to her strengths, and delegate the operations and administration to others. She can effectively communicate the big picture and how it benefits all involved so that it’s a win-win for everyone.

As a Turbo Thinker, she overflows with innovative ideas, connecting the dots in unusual ways as a creative problem solver. She also possesses a high level of empathy and civic mindedness, and thrives in a role to play her part in healing the world. Finally, Emma has a wicked sense of humor that makes for an enjoyable environment, but also helps her shake off losses and quickly tap into her growth mindset to learn from mistakes.

At this moment, Emma still doesn’t know where her career will take her, but she does have clarity on what she brings to the table. We all want Turbo Thinkers at our table because they make the best company ever.

What neurodiverse community will you create?
