5 Reasons Every Turbo Thinker© Can Benefit from an ADHD Coach

ADHD coaching is not therapy, nor is it me sending reminders to clients and nagging them to get things done. ADHD coaching is a creative and collaborative process that empowers my clients to manage their attention, hyperactivity (physical, mental or emotional), and impulsivity while strengthening their executive function skills. These skills can include sustained attention, task initiation, time management, organization, planning, prioritization, working memory, intrinsic motivation, and metacognition.

I encourage my clients to be their most authentic selves in a safe environment, free of all fear and judgment. With mutual openness and curiosity, we explore current concerns and opportunities while looking to areas of personal growth and development. An integration of ADHD traits, behaviors, patterns, and challenges, all viewed through the lens of neuroscience, creates abundant space for my clients to use newfound strengths and confidence in successfully harnessing the power of their unique turbo-charged brains. They engage in the process of envisioning goals, planning steps, and taking actions that result in learning, accomplishment, and empowerment. Coaching is a magical and transformational experience, in which ADHD strengths are included as a backdrop for dynamic performance.

Together we are creating new neural pathways, which takes time. We are training the brain to abandon the well trodden dirt path that no longer serves us. Instead, we are forging into the jungle with a machete and exploring a better route. It may take a while to make that path the brain’s chosen path. Like someone who enthusiastically signs up for a marathon, it will take commitment, time and some discomfort to achieve the goal if you can only comfortably jog a mile.

After a few months, you retain clarity on purpose and direction for fulfillment. You not only appreciate your strengths and understand what your brain needs to succeed, but you also possess the courage to ask for it. You have invented and tested strategies to support your executive function skills. You can be consistent with controlled variations, having shifted from passively floating in the winds of whimsy to designing your own lifestyle for your highest, most authentic self. You feel both competent and confident.

You feel like the best version of yourself.

Take the next step with ADHD coaching.
